In my form 16 PART B under deduction sub head 80CCD sum deposited is RS 56118 whereas rebate given is only of RS 52767. First question is why so?
Secondly, while filing return when I key the data in 80CCD(1) as RS 56118 it takes the full amount under rebate column. How to solve this so that I can file the return as early as possible.

The total deduction allowed under Section 80C & 80CCD is Rs. 2,00,000.

Your total amount invested in both these sections may be more than 2 Lakhs as a result of which the maximum total deduction allowed would be Rs. 2 Lakhs only and your NPS Deduction wont be allowed fully.

This could be one of the most probable reasons.

The total cumulative deduction that is allowed for Section 80C + Section 80CCD cannot exceed Rs. 2 Lakhs
