    Job summary:
    The team of Financial Services (FS) analysts in GTH is a part of the global FS SMI team in EY Knowledge. Operating as one globally integrated team, it provides research, analysis and insights on FS sectors and sub-sectors, markets, players and hot topics to the leadership of FS sectors, accounts, strategic solutions and service lines, and other senior FS practitioners. The team also supports the EY India FS practice for its knowledge requirements. The team helps EY grow its revenues by identifying business opportunities and helping the firm win pursuits; build and strengthen client relationships by helping EY practitioners understand their clients’ business environment well; and build its competitive advantage in the market by driving the creation of distinctive thought leadership collateral.


    The Team Leader is responsible for the overall performance of the GTH FS team and delivery of exceptional quality service to global and India stakeholders in a consistent manner. He/she plays a critical role in business planning, resource allocation, recruitment of resources, competency development of team members and performance management of the team. He/she collaborates with the Global and Area Knowledge Leaders, Global Lead/Strategic Analysts and Global Coordinating Analysts, and participates in strategic decision-making and implementation for the global FS team. He/she also mentors and coaches colleagues in the GTH and global FS teams, as necessary.


    The Team Leader also functions as a hands-on analyst in the Banking & Capital Markets (BCM) sector. In this role, he/she provides insights to an assigned set of stakeholders focused on priority accounts and strategic solutions by conducting analysis based on deep domain knowledge, a range of analytical tools and techniques, and internal and external databases. He/she anticipates trends and issues in the sector, markets and assigned accounts/solutions, tracks key players and EY competition, and presents his/her point of view on the commercial implications to internal clients in an impactful manner and thereby facilitates their strategic decision-making. He/she leads, manages and contributes to complex research and analysis projects, including the design and delivery of products and services in response to client needs.




    Key responsibilities:




    Analysis:
    • Independently conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis proactively or in response to structured/unstructured requests from assigned stakeholders. Produces insightful point of view deliverables for internal briefings or for external client interactions, pursuits or client engagements. Shows confidence in articulating and defending own perspectives and recommendations.

    • Possesses a thorough understanding of the BCM sector and assigned accounts/solutions and expertise in relevant information sources. Demonstrates the ability to do horizon-watching and anticipate trends and issues in the sector. Uses “what if” approaches to determine the impact of changes on all areas of a client’s business or logical next steps if status quo continues. Develops multiple hypotheses regarding alternative conclusions, to investigate the alternatives and to recommend solutions. Draws together information from primary and secondary sources to prove or disprove hypotheses.

    • Is well-conversant with EY service offerings and go to market strategies. Demonstrates the ability to link trends and issues to EY solutions.

    • Possesses the ability to collect intelligence from internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) using direct interviewing and elicitation techniques.


    Communication / Expression:
    • Demonstrates good use of structured thinking in analytics. Articulates his/her point of view clearly and coherently.

    • Presents information visually in a compelling manner, supplementing text and narrative.

    • Written and spoken presentation is sophisticated and tailored to the audience.
    Project management :



    • Leads projects with multidisciplinary teams, often working virtually across geographies. Develops project plans and manages projects, including objectives, timelines, milestones, priorities, team member responsibilities, work products and project budgets

    • Monitors teams’ progress and regularly updates stakeholders on potential issues and changes; re-negotiates timelines, scope changes and budgets, where necessary

    • Develops project work products collaboratively with team members that focus on measurable commercial impact.
    Relationship management:

    • Builds and maintains strong relationships with the assigned stakeholders and interfaces with them on a formal and informal basis to share insights and emerging viewpoints. Works to become a trusted business advisor to the assigned stakeholders. Is sought out by the business regularly for advice and insight on industry or service line issues.
    • Builds and maintains relationships with SMEs, both within and external to EY.
    • Collaborates effectively with global FS Knowledge leadership and functions as a trusted team member.
    Team management:

    • Provides leadership to the GTH FS team and is responsible for all aspects of team management, including business planning, resource allocation and project management, quality review processes, client feedback, recruitment and performance management of team members.
    • Builds and maintains a high-performing team by relentlessly driving competency development of team members. Focuses on delivery of exceptional client service to the team’s stakeholders. Mentors and coaches team members in the GTH and global FS teams, as necessary, on SMI competencies.
    • Participates in strategic decision-making and implementation at the global FS Knowledge leadership and the GTH Knowledge Leadership level. Acts as the single point of contact for the global FS Knowledge leadership with respect to the GTH FS team.

    Job requirements:



    Competencies, education and experience:

    • Deep domain knowledge in the BCM sector. Proven expertise and hands-on experience in conducting strategic sector and company analysis.
    • Proven expertise and track record in managing high performing teams
    • Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including financial analysis skills
    • Ability to work independently under pressure and produce timely deliverables in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent responsiveness, good project and time management skills and the ability to complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines
    • Ability to develop strong relationships with senior stakeholders and passion to develop one’s brand equity
    • Strong work ethic and good team player, comfortable working in a virtual environment
    • Confidence to provide and defend point of view and proactively offer alternative approaches to internal clients
    • Excellent commitment to quality and attention to detail, expertise in reviewing deliverables
    • Proficient in relevant databases and information sources
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
    • Relevant tertiary education (e.g. MBA, CA, CFA or related discipline)
    • 10+ years of relevant experience. Experience in the professional services industry will be an advantage
    • Advice and insight on industry or service line issues.
    • Builds and maintains relationships with SMEs, both within and external to EY.
    • Collaborates effectively with global FS Knowledge leadership and functions as a trusted team member.
