Hi , I sold a house in may 2014 and want to invest the entire long term capital gain amount in a under construction property which will be registered however will only be ready by end of 2017 . Will that still allow me exemption or I need the new property to be ready for possession within a specific time frame

To claim capital gains exemption - the property should be constructed within 3 years from the date of investment.

Possession should be 3 years from Investment in new or sale of old property when profit was earned

Sorry, it is not from the date of investment in new property but from the date of sale of old property.
