    Hello Everyone,

    Greetings to all !!

I have crossed the limit of Rs 10lac prior 5 months from now but still due to some reasons yet I have not applied for the service tax number.

so my question is do I need to pay service tax for that exceeded amount by myself or I can approach the companies to whom I have given my services.

So my main concern is will this companies pay me the my previous service tax if I take the number now or I have to pay the complete service tax from my pocket.

please give me the solution as soon as possible.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Rakesh

    It depends on the client.

Some clients may pay you the service tax if you ask for it.

You have to pay Service Tax on both the amount received through cash as well as cheque

  5. You are service provider and liable to pay the tax service tax on your services
whether received in cash or cheque immaterial
