Deduciton under Section 80G for Donation in Gurudwara

    DEAR SIR/MADAM


    I AM A GOVT. EMPLOYEE AND DONATING Rs. 1500 pm in renovation of worship place (GURUDWARA). SO KINDLY SUGGEST THAT CAN I AVAIL TAX EXEMPTION UNDER SECTION 80G. AND IF YES THEN WHAT KIND OF DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR PROOF FOR TAX RETURN FILLING.

    You can check with the Gurudwara if Donations accepted by them are allowed to be claimed under Section 80G

    If it is allowed and they are giving you a receipt and on the receipt it is mentioned that these donations can be claimed as deduction under Section 80G - then you can claim deduction

    Yes, you can claim Deductions under Section 80G.

    * But you must Received a Valid Receipt for such Donations.

    * Valid Receipts means - It must state that the Trust is Register for 80G under Income Tax Laws; Full Name, Address and PAN of the Trust must be indicated properly on Receipts.

    * You can claim 50% of Donation (subject to criteria)
