I got to know that dividend is tax free.
Just to reconfirm, if an individual getting dividend as the income out of his shares from various companies, he/she need not show it as the 'Income from other sources' while submitting IT returns. Am I right?

As Dividend Income is exempted from the levy of Income Tax, it is not to be disclosed under head Income from Other Sources.

This income is required to be disclosed as Exempted Income.

In case you are using the Excel Utility of the Income Tax Dept., there is a separate sheet for disclosing the Exempt Income

For your ready reference - I'm sharing a screenshot Excel Form showing where the Exempted Dividend Income is to be disclosed.
