Gift not shown as Exempt Income in ITR

  1. @Karan Batra : In that case, I too will not be able to project that part as exempt income right... Amount sent to mother on monthly basis. Can you please explain the concept? I do not understand the difference.

    You are sending gift to your mother out of your taxable income. Gift income will be exempt in your mother's hand and not in yours, because she is the recipient of the gift.
