Income Tax on Retirement Benefits if Re-employed

    sir if an officer retired from defence service and re-employed in same department for further one year or two year. what are the elements are taxable/exempted on retirement and what will be taxable income post re-employed.

    Are you employed on a contract basis or your job retirement age has been extended.

    And have you received any benefits like Pension, Gratuity etc on retirement?

    Sir the job has been extended serving in Defence and receiving Pension. On retirement received all retirement benefits like DSOP Fund balance, gratuity, leave encashment etc

    Retirement benefits received such as GPF, DCRG,Commutation of Pension, Leave encashment are exempt from tax.

    His taxable income on reemployment will be pension and salary on which he is currently employed.
