I have recently been issued a service tax no on my individual name in Mumbai.
I wish to float a proprietorship firm for business enhancement. I may split the billing for different services between individual and firm...or may prefer to continue with the firm name.
Can the name of the Proprietorship firm be endorsed on the same service tax registration?
What are the procedure and formalities.
Will appreciate any help or advice.
    Regards and best wishes,
    Sunil

The Individual and the Proprietorship business are both the same thing in the eyes of the law.

A common pan card and a common service tax no. is issued for both of them.

Therefore, the same pan card and the same service tax no. can be used by both of them.
