I am a freelancer working online for a Canada based individual. Through myitreturn.com I filed returns for FY 2014-15 yesterday. After verification I observed that the form submitted by them is ITR-1 and not ITR-4. Is it wrong to use ITR-1 in my case? If its wrong then what will be the consequences since its a belated return?

ITR 4 Form is applicable in your case. You should revise your return from ITR 1 to ITR 4.

ITR 1 is not the correct form to be using for a person who is mainly deriving his income from freelancing

No, a belated return of income tax cannot be revised
