Hello everyone!! I am writing my OP experience which is compulsory for every CA student before pursuing articleship. At night I was doing some work just when I decided to check the NIRC website to know about recent batches. I was surprised that the batches were declared and the seats were being filled up very fast. At that time there was some site problem due to which I couldn't register myself. So I just went to the Shakarpur branch of NIRC on the day of the commencement of the batch. I told them the problem and they allotted me the same batch. DAY-1 So this was the first class of orientation programme. I felt weird because I entered during the tea break. Break over!!! Everyone went to class and teacher came after the break was over. Teacher had a frank behavior, smiling face and an open heart. OP is all about being frank and opening up your hearts and show the talent and skills what you have never thought of showing anyone. These OP and GMCS are made compulsory to make all CAs more practical as MBAs. The introduction part everyday was unique because you won't get the same teacher everyday. Five days, five different personalities and five different learning skills. She asked everyone their name, any life experience or any joke or any motivational line or their role model anything which we want. Those who were not able to introduce themselves properly caught special attention of the teacher and were called in front of class. During the introduction, some sang a song and some were asked to speak for 2 minutes on a given topic .This introduction part was very funny because everyone was unique and so was their introduction. Also the teacher asked us to remember the names of 10 students and also 10 students should know our names. And the person who remembered the maximum names will be awarded. Later she told us that she was joking but yes, those who remembered less were asked to do something on the stage. After this there was another tea break on the terrace. Before leaving for lunch, we were told to think about a funny play on any topic. So groups were made by assigning a number just like dance partners were made in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. It was fun finding our group members. After the tea break everyone was well prepared to present their act. Our act was good. The group who won did their act on “sach bolvane vala ghotalabab”. Everyone acted like they were real actors. I can also say this that the OP programme can also help you to live your acting dream which you had ever dreamt of in your childhood. DAY-2 Again a new teacher and a new introduction way was taught. It was a male teacher-funny, friendly and smart in his talking ways. He was not forcing, just asked those who were ready to open up. He introduced himself and told everything about what he thinks. He did an activity where he asked everyone to take out a piece of paper and write our thoughts about any person in that class. Then he collected all the slips and mixed them. We didn't mention our names on that so it was safe to write the actual things. He just started reading louder in class taking out the slips one by one and then gave that to that person for whom it was. At the end of this experiment he told us the motive behind this and the crux was "You are more beautiful than what you think about yourself.”Then he showed us a small movie on this topic on the projector. He tried to change our perception about what we think about ourselves. He made us realise that we can never know what people think about us. But if we will feel good, confident and positive about ourselves, then others too will start feeling the same. Then an activity was done where five students were made to sit in front of the class and they were asked to prepare their views on “love vs arrange marriage”. After that they would become the celebrity and people will ask their views. This was done to increase their confidence. Before going for lunch break he asked us to prepare a play in a group on silent acting i.e. expressing your play without touching or speaking. We prepared during the lunch hours. Everyone presented very well. DAY-3 This was a lady teacher. She told us that she did her articleship from one of Big 4. It was a boring class because she taught only what she was supposed to without making the class funny and interesting. Main motive of this day was to tell us etiquettes of the business world and the Do’s and Dont’s about GD. We had a GD on the topic of our choice. So the topics were interesting and funny. Most of students couldn't speak well because of poor English. DAY-4 This again began with introduction of students and teacher. This teacher looked more professional. He talked professionally. He told us we are going to be a professional soon; so we should know each and everything about our profession-How it was started? Who was first CA? How this career emerged as challenging like it is today? He showed us some motivational videos to tell us that CA is all about perseverance. Failure comes to those who quit when they were close to success. Doesn't matter how many attempts we take, but what matters is how can we make this attempt better than earlier one. Also how much patience do we have to clear the exams. He asked about our knowledge on GD. Also the GD today was more professional. First a discussion was held on a topic “boys vs girls”. That was exciting. Then GD was held after giving us a preparation time on a political topic. We had discussion on the topics predecided by us. Those who couldn't speak were asked why did they not speak. They answered that they didn’t get a chance to speak. Teacher told us in GD we have to cut others point because no one is going to give you a chance to speak. After the GD there was a round of questions by the audience. DAY-5 It was a Sunday and of course the last day of OP. Because of elections on Saturday, the class was kept on Sunday to complete the batch. We waited for a long time for the teacher to enter the class. The teacher finally came and he told that the faculty was not decided so he was called up late to give OP class. This teacher was totally a ‘shayarana guy’. He taught us a good lesson “dil ki bat jubaan tak leke aao varna koi or use keh ke mauka le jyega”. This last class was to improve our communication skills. This was the only teacher who hadn't ask for introduction. He just said whenever student will give answer, they will start with their name. He introduced himself by telling his childhood memories and learning moments of his life. He wanted everyone to speak. Those who didn’t were called on stage and asked to speak on a given topic. He believes that luck is an important thing while doing CA because you never know when you will clear or when you will fail. But if you are determined then you will surely succeed. At the end of this last class the coordinator of NIRC came and gave a lecture. He clarified regarding certificates issuance and also those feedback forms which were given on the first day was now taken back. At the end of every class teacher gave us their contact numbers and Email ids, so that we can ask them any query on call or through mail. Thank you ..hope you enjoyed reading!!!!!
