Service Tax is levied on under construction properties but not on properties that have been fully constructed.

    Hi Gaurav,

Thanks for your reply but I need clarification for following.

See, recently I've purchased a new flat. The flat value is 17 Lakhs. When I booked the flat construction was complete, only interior (wall, floor, doors, window, electrical, plumbing etc.) was pending. For booking I paid Rs 5 lakhs. Rest part was paid after completion and during registration.

Now before registration developer asked they have got their service tax registration number and I need to pay service tax on sale value.

At this point my question is whether I need to pay service tax on the booking amount or the whole sale value? Please specify.

    Thanks and regards,

@avinandan : Service Tax would be required to be paid on the total amount.
