Short term capital gain on sale of property

    If an Allotment letter for a Flat was provided by the Builder in 2007 and 95% of the payment was made by 2010, however the completion was delayed by the builder and possession was given only in 2014.
    Then, for the purpose of calculating capital gains, which date should be used??

    2007 would be considered as the date of acquisition as it give you a right over the property
