What is the remedy available to a tax payer when due to deductor's commission/omission, TDS
is not reflected in his 26AS and the Income Tax Dept raise the same demand, subjecting him to double taxation.
The tax payer has necessary documents like passbook of post office for Senior Citizens' Savings Scheme showing TDS but not form 16A as the same was not issued by the post office.

Write a letter to the Income Tax Officer stating that Form 26AS is not reflecting the correct particulars.

Also attach a copy of Senior Citizens Saving Scheme where the correct TDS is mentioned.

You can ask your deductor to revise their TDS returns, so that amount is reflected in your 26 AS.
