80D Deduction for Medical Expenses incurred by Pensioner

    Kindly advise whether Rs. 15000-00 can be claimed as exemption from the taxable income by the pensioner for the medical bill expenses incurred by him

    Deduction under section 80d is for payment of medical insurance premium and for regular health checkup but not for medical expenses

    However, from next year super senior citizens i.e. people above the age of 80 years would be able to claim deduction for the medical expenses incurred by them
