80D Deduction: Policy on Father's Name, Premium Paid by Son

    Hi Sir,

    request to all expert.....please advise me on deduction benefit under section of 80D for parents medical insurance premium paid.

    here the medical insurance policy is on name of my father and he is a senior citizen but these policy is paid me (son) on their behalf... in that case can I am eligible for deduction benefit u/s 80D for medical insurance premium paid for sr. citizen parents.

    I looking forward all your valuable advise

    Yes, payment made for medical insurance premium of parents is allowed to be claimed as a deduction under Section 80D
