    Sir,
I had purchased equity shares in 1991 when there was no STT
Now this company is not listed If I sale this shares privately without paying STT
I have to pay Capital Gain Tax?

Capital Gains are exempted from the levy of tax only if STT is paid at the time of sale.

In your case, as STT would not be paid at the time of sale - therefore capital gains would not be exempted and tax would be levied on sale.
