Registration of partnership firm issue

    Esteemed members,

    1. Our partnership firm was formed in Feb 2013. The reg form was
    filled online and submitted physically along with fees to RoF in Pune
    in Nov 2013. Our PAN, TAN,Balance sheet, IT returns, Shop act and
    bank accounts etc are all under this name.

    2. Just today, when we inquired why our registration no is not yet
    been allocated, the RoF informed us that the firm cannot be registered since
    our firms name consists "INC" which is prohibited.

    We have transacted under this firms name fro almost two years now. Is there any way we can register the firm with original date (2013), we have no problems in changing the name. Also, is it possible to change the name on PAN/TAN etc post changing the firm's name.
